Origins & Characteristics

Oriental Fire Bellied Toads belong to a family of eight species under the genus Bombina. The species is small and semiaquatic found naturally in Korea, northern China and parts of Russia, but are known commonly kept as pets in the UK and across the world. Despite their common name being toad, they should technically be referred to as a frog due to the tubercles on its back.

About Our Fire Bellied Toads

We have two toads at the farm and they were donated to us back in 2017. Their brightly coloured bellies are beautiful to look at, but its rare to get a glimpse as they are often camouflaged in their rocks or sitting underwater. The toads and our axolotl are the only amphibian species at the farm.”
