Origins & Characteristics

The Muscovy duck is a large breed native to Central and South America. Females of the breed are considerably smaller than the females with their adult weight being around 3kg, about half the size of males. Although a tropical bird, they are well adapted to colder climates and have been known to thrive even in -12 degrees celsius.

All About Daphne & Dolly

We have two female Muscovy ducks who provide us with delicious large white eggs every few days, which we sell to staff and students to raise money for the farm. They are very friendly and love to swim in the ponds all day long. You can often see our ducks and chickens talking to each other through the fence as they are next door neighbours.”
